The Lower Milford Township Fire
Company is located in the Lehigh Valley, which is about 1 hour north of Philadelphia.
The Lehigh Valley, not a municipal entity, is instead a grouping of communities
that surround the cities of Allentown (home of Mack Trucks), Bethlehem (former
home of Bethlehem Steel Corp.) and Easton. The Lehigh Valley is about 5 miles
from Allentown.
Lower Milford is a rural community of about 4,000 people.
Limeport Stadium, where portions of the movie, Rounding First, were filmed, is
in Limeport where our fire company is headquartered. The stadium will celebrate
its 75th anniversary this summer. This year,
running from June 25-28, 2008, the Lower Milford Township Fire Company's Carnival
is back for its 36th year, and it promises to be bigger and better ! Open
nightly from 5pm, then Carnival will feature live band performances, free Puppet
Shows for the children, great carnival rides, a silent auction, bingo, a beer
and food pavilion, a dunk tank and of course, the grand drawing. Of
special interest to all fans of the movie, Rounding First, director Jim Fleigner
has donated quite a number of pieces of memorabilia from Rounding First as his
special way of saying thanks to the community, and fans who love the film and
would like a genuine memento from it will be able to bid on these items in the

Company's liaison, Tad Miller has this to say about the Rounding First memorabilia
that have been donated by director, Jim Fleigner : | "We're
grateful to Jim and all involved in "Rounding First" for the support and generosity
of the donation of memorabilia associated with the movie. We believe these items
will draw particular interest from bidders because of the film's scenes and association
with the Lehigh Valley in general and Limeport in particular, where both our fire
station and Limeport Stadium are located. " |
All
proceeds will benefit Lower Milford Township Fire Company's all-volunteer fire
and ambulance services, run by about 35 active volunteer men and women. All activities
will be held on the fire company grounds at 1601 Limeport Pike in Limeport. Most
carnival events will be held rain or shine. Do
plan to support this extremely worthy cause .... why not plan on enjoying the
wonderful carnival atmosphere, and maybe you might be fortunate enough to win
one ( or more ) of the authentic pieces of memorabilia from Rounding First !
