I've had the privilege to view these 3 short films, and was blown away by them. Even as Jim Fleigner cut his teeth as a young screenwriter and film director by making these 3 films , it was already evident from the films that there was something very special about this film auteur . The 3 short films, like Rounding First, deal with relationships , and they are stories with heart told with the same kind of passion that would be so evident in the feature film that would follow the 3 shorts . At the same time, the tone of each of the 3 short films could not be more different . Wingman is a subtle little romantic comedy , From the Top of the Key is a truly wonderful drama with a twist at the end , and Last Writes is a truly enjoyable modern fable told with a wicked sense of humour and an ending that will bring a smile to your face .
